The CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (formerly the Financial Planning Certificate) is a professional qualification for financial advisers. It consists of five units: R01 (Financial Services, Regulation & Ethics), R02 (Investment Principles and Risk), R03 (Personal Taxation), R04 (Pensions and Retirement Planning), and R05 (Financial Protection).
How many questions are in each CII R-series exam?
Each R-series unit exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 2 hours. The pass mark is 70% for each unit. Units are examined separately, so you can sit them in any order.
Which CII R-series unit should I start with?
Most candidates begin with R01 (Financial Services, Regulation & Ethics) as it provides the regulatory foundation underpinning the other units. However, you can sit the units in any order. R03 and R05 are popular early choices for those with existing tax or protection knowledge.
